Ian Wright says player “doesn’t want to come back” to Chelsea

Ian Wright is convinced that one player does not want a Chelsea return this summer as The Blues ponder their options.

As reported recently by The Telegraph, Chelsea are thinking about using striker Romelu Lukaku next season and want to hold talks with the player to see where his head is at. They also mention that pending new manager Mauricio Pochettino is open to the striker returning under him, after all, Lukaku’s issues were with former manager Thomas Tuchel.

Sources: Chelsea make decision on replacing Mateo Kovacic and Mason Mount this summer!

So with talks on hold now until after the Champions League final, the thoughts are all on what Lukaku will want to do, and pundit Ian Wright believes he knows.

Wright thinks Romelu Lukaku ‘doesn’t want to come back’ to the Premier League, even though Chelsea are in need of a number nine, as he told PL Productions (15/05/23 at 2:55 pm).

Wright said: “I saw somewhere that they are trying to negotiate to extend his loan. I think he wants Chelsea to continue to pay more of the loan.

“He doesn’t want to come back. I don’t think he wants to come back.”

It does seem pretty certain that Lukaku’s desire is to stay at Inter Milan, but that might not be possible if they cannot afford him.
