“He’s like Ederson” – Former England midfielder “loved watching” Chelsea target who was “fantastic”

Chelsea are being linked with a number of potential new goalkeepers to pursue this summer as they look to make a decision on a new stopper.

Neither Kepa Arrizabalaga or Edouard Mendy have really stepped up to be a hugely reliable number one at Stamford Bridge and as a result, both of them have question marks over their futures this summer. Also, this has forced Chelsea to start looking for potential replacements to come in.

Sources: Chelsea have big plans for current forward who they rate highly!

A few names have been mentioned, but one of the ones that keeps coming up is Andre Onana from Inter Milan. The goalkeeper was in action in the Champions League last night, and former England and Liverpool midfielder was watching the game and was blown away by Onana’s performance. So much so that he even likened him to Manchester City’s impressive Ederson, which is certainly a high compliment.

In words picked up by The Chelsea Chronicle, Gerrard said: “He could wear number 10 on his back. He’s like Ederson.

“All night he’s getting pressed; he’s under pressure; in sticky situations, he’s calm and collected. He can play long and play short.

“I loved watching the keeper tonight. He was fantastic.”
