Fresh transfer angle for €17m winger could finally be his recipe for success

We love a fresh transfer rumour with a fresh angle – and this is a great one

Callum Hudson-Odoi decided a year ago that his future wasn’t at Chelsea. He had spent years pushing for a regular first team place and eventually concluded it was never going to happen. He went on loan to Bayern Leverkusen, where after a bright start he also faded out of starting contention.

He needs a permanent move now, to somewhere where he can be a star. The winger can’t aim for the Champions League anymore, he needs to start every game for a season and find his feet at a lower level.

That’s why we love the rumour we’re hearing in Nottinghamshire Live today about a potential move to Nottingham Forest. The key factor here is their manager Steve Cooper, who coached CHO at his most successful in the England youth teams. He knows the winger well and what he can get out of him.

Transfermarkt rate Hudson-Odoi at €17m which seems reasonable now he has just one year on his contract. We can really see him going to Forest for a similar sum and making a success of it if he can stay injury free.
