Euro giants to hold transfer talks with Chelsea regarding 13-goal star

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku is currently on loan at Inter Milan and the Italians could look to sign the player permanently in the summer.

Initially, there were rumours that Inter Milan would look to send the player back to Chelsea upon the expiry of his loan deal.

Lukaku had an underwhelming return to the Italian club this season, but he has managed to get over his persistent injury problems and return to his peak form. The Belgian has managed to hit a purple patch and he has seven goals and four assists to his name in his last 10 appearances for Inter Milan across all competitions.

It seems that Inter Milan are now impressed with his performances and they are ready to open talks regarding his long-term future at the club at the end of the season. The reliable Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that Inter will hold talks with Chelsea regarding Lukaku’s future after the UEFA Champions League final.

Inter are up against Premier League champions Manchester City in the finals of the Champions League and it remains to be seen whether Lukaku can guide his side to European glory. The 30-year-old has 13 goals and six assists to his name across all competitions.

The Belgian is certainly one of the best strikers on the planet when he is on song and his return to form could not have been better timed. Inter Milan will be hoping that the 30-year-old can make his mark in their biggest game of the season against Manchester City.

It is clear that Lukaku does not have a future at Stamford Bridge and therefore a permanent move to Inter would be ideal for all parties. That said, Chelsea are expected to bring in Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager and it will be interesting to see if the Argentine is willing to hand Lukaku a lifeline at the London club.

  1. The fact he doesn’t wanna be at Chelsea regardless who the manager is , isn’t good for an already divided dressing room , seeing Tuchel lift the bundesliga title & them struggle with Potter & then Lampard again would mean more Boehly cuckoo land dreams hitting the floor
