Emerging Premier League giants could steal attacking midfield gem from Chelsea using Champions League riches

Joao Felix has come to Chelsea at a very strange time – he’s seen 3 managers in just a few months and has played through a historically bad period in the club’s history.

It’s possible his whirlwind comes to an end in just a couple of weeks, with a return to Atletico Madrid on the cards once his loan expires. There are some whispers that Chelsea want to keep him, but given Christopher Nkunku is arriving in the summer and there’s a desperate need to trim the squad, it’s also very possible that Felix is never seen in Blue again.

It might not be the last we see of him in the Premier League, however.

Marca report that Newcastle are keeping an eye on him, and could make a very serious offer that Atletico have to consider. The Spanish side aren’t interested in keeping Felix, they have signed him to a new contract to protect his value and are still looking for loans or a sale in the medium to long term.

Newcastle have not been crazy spenders since their takeover, but they certainly have the potential to splash money around if they want, especially once they secure Champions League football. So even if we don’t see Joao Felix at Chelsea next season, this may not be the end of his Premier League story after all…

Would you be disappointed to see him playing with a top 4 rival?
