Chelsea winger lets slip worst kept secret about new manager

Noni Madueke has all but confirmed that Mauricio Pochettino will be Chelsea’s new manager in his responses to questions after the draw against Newcastle.

Football London have reported that Madueke responded in the following way when asked what he thought of having Pochettino as his latest coach:

“I think he is a good manager,” Madueke said.

“He has been in big places around the world and he was a great success in the Premier League. I am looking forward to working with and learning from him.

“I think next season we need to go back to basics. The new manager needs to come in and everyone needs to get behind him in training for him and Chelsea to be successful and there’s no reason why we can’t be with the talent in his squad

He didn’t go so far as to actually say it, but the manner in which he spoke makes it look likely the players have been informed that the former Spurs boss will be their new manager.

Fabrizio Romano and other insiders like Matt Law have claimed the announcement will be in the next 48 hours, so Madueke’s not going to get in trouble for spilling the beans. It’s been weeks since it was all but confirmed that Pochettino was our new man.

Madueke looks like a rough diamond at the moment, and could be one of the players to really benefit from top coaching from Pochettino and his team if they like the winger’s style.
