“Chelsea tried” to sign player last summer who’s club now “urgently need to sell”

Chelsea’s search for new players will soon start coming to fruition when Mauricio Pochettino is officially announced as the new manager by the club and gets his feet under the table.

A lot of transfer targets have been spoken about and have been reported by various outlets over the last couple of months, but now Pochettino is likely to come in, have some more meetings, and have a real involvement and influence in who the club end up going for this summer.

Sources: Highly rated young midfielder not on list of players Chelsea wish to sell this summer!

They want a striker, that is a vey obvious statement, and they will be looking to prioritise one this summer.

Ben Jacobs has the latest on that and much more in his latest exclusive and extensive Chelsea FC column for Si & Dan Talk Chelsea this week.

Jacobs mentioned two striker targets in particular, Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez, and Juventus Dusan Vlahovic.

The aforementioned by be quite attainable this summer.

Jacobs said: “Dusan Vlahovic is another Chelsea target, as is Inter’s Lautaro Martínez. Chelsea tried for Martinez last summer but Inter weren’t having any of it. However they urgently need to sell, even if they win the Champions League. Almost everyone at Inter is for sale in many ways this summer, or at least that’s the feeling from suitors.”
