Chelsea set to “discuss” Harry Kane transfer this summer

Chelsea will discuss the potential transfer pursuit of Tottenham striker Harry Kane this summer, according to a report this week.

The Blues are searching for an elite new striker to add to the ranks this summer, and as impossible as prying Kane from Spurs sounds, it will be discussed internally at Chelsea regardless.

Sources: Highly rated young midfielder not on list of players Chelsea wish to sell this summer!

That is according to insider Ben Jacobs, who was writing in his latest exclusive and extensive Chelsea FC column for Si & Dan Talk Chelsea this week.

Jacobs addressed a lot and went through Chelsea and Mauricio Pochettino’s transfer plans. The latter could be key in any Chelsea pursuit of Kane, having shared a very good relationship with him at Spurs.

But even still, Jacobs thinks any move for Kane is very unlikely to happen due to Daniel Levy not wanting to sell Kane to a rival, especially one so direct in London neighbours Chelsea. But even still, it will be discussed.

Jacobs said: “The main priority, though, is goals. That’s why Chelsea want a traditional No.9. Harry Kane will be linked, but it’s Manchester United to date who have done the legwork. It is highly unlikely Daniel Levy will entertain a transfer for less than £100m. And it remains to be seen whether he would want to sell to Chelsea at all.

“Chelsea will discuss Kane internally, which is normal, but they haven’t moved in any practical sense. It’s one of those transfers where if a proven scorer like Kane becomes genuinely available, and a deal is there to be had, Chelsea would be foolish not to at least explore it. But right now it’s all just pre-Pochettino speculation.”
