Chelsea keeping tabs on 20-year-old prodigy likened to Sergio Aguero

Chelsea are reportedly keeping tabs on the Brazilian youngster Marcos Leonardo along with a host of other Premier League clubs.

The 20-year-old Santos striker has caught the attention of a number of clubs with his performances in the under-20 World Cup with Brazil and a report from 90 Min claims that Chelsea have taken a liking to the player.

The report further states that Leonardo has been likened to the former Argentine international striker, Sergio Aguero, because of his style of play.

Chelsea have recently invested in a number of talented young players and it seems that they are looking to add to the pool of young talent at Stamford Bridge. It would hardly be a surprise if they decided to make a move for Leonardo as well.

The report adds claims that clubs like Arsenal, Manchester United, and Tottenham are all keeping tabs on the talented young striker.

The 20-year-old is highly rated in South America and he has a big future ahead of him. He could prove to be a solid, long-term investment for Chelsea. He has eight goals to his name across all competitions this season.

The Blues need to add more quality to their attack and Leonardo would be a superb option to have. Chelsea are expected to appoint Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager and the Argentine has previously shown a willingness to trust in talented young players. The 20-year-old Brazilian striker could get opportunities under Pochettino next season.

The Blues have recently signed the likes of Andrey Santos and Kendry Paez from South America and it remains to be seen whether they can get a deal for Leonardo across the line.
