Chelsea ‘could make a concrete move’ for 14-goal star ‘ideal’ for Pochettino’s tactics

Dusan Vlahovic has been linked with a move away from Juventus at the end of the season and Chelsea are reportedly a potential destination for the Serbian international.

According to journalist Rudy Galetti from GiveMeSport, Chelsea could look to make a move for him at the end of the season, especially after the appointment of Mauricio Pochettino.

The Argentine manager reportedly feels that Vlahovic will fit his tactical setup and therefore Chelsea could look to sign him.

Galetti said: “The Blues could make a concrete move for the Serbian, especially because the next manager, [Mauricio] Pochettino, considers Dušan the ideal striker for his tactical idea.

“The player likes the destination and reaching an agreement on personal terms wouldn’t be a problem. Let’s keep an eye also on Bayern Munich, who have Vlahović at the top of their list along with Harry Kane.”

The Serbian joined Juventus in a deal worth around £62.8 million in January 2022, but he has not been able to live up to the expectations of the Italian club. Although his performances have not been poor, Juventus expected him to hit the ground running and guide them to trophies.

Vlahovic has 23 goals in 63 appearances for Juventus across all competitions. He has 14 goals to his name this season.

It remains to be seen whether the Italian outfit are prepared to cash in on him this summer.

Chelsea are in desperate need of a goal scorer and the 22-year-old certainly has the physical and technical attributes to thrive in English football. Working under a top-class coach like Pochettino could help the Serbian get back to his best and fulfil his tremendous potential.

Chelsea have strengthened their attack considerably with the signings of Joao Felix, Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke in recent windows. They need to bring in a reliable goalscorer now and Vlahović could be the final piece of the puzzle for them.

Chelsea have had a disappointing campaign this year and they will be hoping to get back to challenging for trophies next year. They must address the lack of goals in the side in order to compete with the top clubs, and Vlahović could transform them in the final third if he manages to adapt to English football.
