Armando Broja will be fit for preseason after long absence

Chelsea striker Armando Broja will be back from injury in time to complete a full preaseason, Nizaar Kinsella has reported in the Evening Standard today.

Broja ruptured his ACL in a friendly against Aston Villa in December, while most of the squad were playing at the World Cup. That ended a promising run where he was picking up more and more minutes as other striking options failed.

But after 5 months of recovery Broja is back doing individual training, and the Albania forward is on track to be ready to join the rest of the group for preseason as they tour the USA.

Our first friendly is in the UK against Wrexham in early July, giving Broja a full two months from now to prepare. Let’s hope he gets the chance to pick up where he left off. We are likely to sign other strikers, and Broja will need to impress his new coach.
