Pro footballers start on their journey to the top of the game at such a young age that it must be difficult for them to take stock and realise that it’s actually happening, and their dreams are going to come true.
Ben Chilwell was asked about this on the long interview Chelsea have on their Youtube channel, and he responded that the moment it sank in that it was all actually happening was when he was at home after his debut for Leicester.
“I was watching Match of the Day… with me on it!” he explained.
