(Video): “A nightmare to defend” – How Mudryk got on in false 9 role

We’ve seen a 343 formation from Chelsea in their last 3 games which has meant a new role for the player leading the line.

For two games it was Raheem Sterling, but against Leicester last weekend he was hurt so Mykhailo Mudryk played that role.

He did a good job, and while he didn’t get the ball much himself he created space for others, as “Footy with an Edge” pointed out in his excellent analysis of the game.

It was “a nightmare to defend” for Leicester, as Mudryk, Joao Felix and Kai Havertz floated around across the front 3 and created tricky situations all over.
