Two Chelsea players named among best U21 stars in world football

ESPN’s list of the top 39 players in the world 21 or under has two Chelsea players on it – the least you’d expect given the crazy spending of the last year.

Andrey Santos is up first – he’s not played a minute for us, but his stock has risen phenomenally regardless. His performances for Brazil’s U20 side earned him a first senior cap this week, and while he will continue his development in his native country this season, he looks ready to tear up the Premier League the moment he gets a work permit.

Badiashile on the other hand hand came into the team withing days of signing and has looked excellent whenever he’s given the chance. The competition at centre back has kept him out of the team at times, but the switch to a back 3 is giving him more chances, and he plays like a 28 year old rather than a 21 year old.
