Yesterday saw a bit of a strange story surface at Chelsea Football Club.
If like me, you have no idea what Ted Lasso is, in an nutshell, it’s a USA TV series about a fictional football team that has a former fictional Chelsea player playing for them.
Sources: The Chelsea striker back story involving Erling Haaland, Harry Kane, and Romelu Lukaku!
Chelsea have done a marketing campaign with the producers of the show, and it saw a mock game Chelsea vs Richmond.
The one we’ve been waiting for, the Roy Kent derby at Stamford Bridge. 🔵🔴

They even had Graham Potter acting and doing a mock up pre-match interview!
'It’s time he faces a proper club.' 💬

Whatever people thought about all this, the worst bit was that someone, whoever put it together, changed a Ray Wilkins banner digitally on the promotion video, and naturally, that didn’t go down well at all.
Chelsea fans are reportedly furious after a banner for Ray Wilkins was doctored for an episode of Ted Lasso 🇺🇸

Many fans then proceeded to direct their anger at the current owners. However, one of them, Todd Boehly, has responded and it it seemingly a decision that they actually had nothing to do with.
We had nothing to do these arrangements. The deal w/ apple was struck in 1Q/22. We are sorry it affected so many and mostly we care about Ray and his family. We would also point out that none of the “Chelsea” players were actual Chelsea players. Hopefully, that was clear.

So there you go!
