Selling Mount and Pulisic could help Chelsea land impressive Portugal star claims former Chelsea player

One thing that has been certain since the start of the spending spree initiated by Todd Boehly at Chelsea last summer, and that is that there’s going to be some major sales before too long.

The squad is bloated beyond all belief, and the books need to be balanced – and that’s before even any new signings are made. One player who Chelsea fans are consistently keen to get it Joao Felix, currently playing at the club on loan from Atletico Madrid.

He’s going to cost serious money however, and that’s going to mean serious sales. But he will be worth it, if he keeps playing like this.

“I think he’s the most dangerous player, the most entertaining player, the most artistic player at Chelsea right now. He’s been pretty consistent too, almost every game he creates something,” said former Chelsea player Frank Lebouef in quotes picked up by The Metro.

He had some suggestions about the kind of players that Graham Potter’s team could sell to generate the €100m or so it would take to secure Felix permanently.

“Hopefully Chelsea will be able to sell a few players – maybe Pulisic and Mount – and can then get Felix on a permanent deal.

“It would be a lot of money, that’s the only worry for the owners. But in terms of a football player, I would sign him.”

Selling a fan favourite like Mount is not going to be popular – but if it results in the signing of Felix, that would certainly soften the blow a little.
