Looking ahead at the run of fixtures Chelsea are on, we saw some winnable games. By the time you get round to them however, they all look rather more difficult.
This Aston Villa game coming up on Saturday is a perfect example. It looks like a game we should win, but their recent form says otherwise. The last 4 games for the Villains have seen 3 wins and a draw, with no goals conceded from open play in that time.
Before that they lost twice – but against league leaders Arsenal and Man City, and both times in games where they gave a good account of themselves.
Unai Emery has made them as defensively solid as you’d expect, as we anticipate a game where they make it very hard for us at Stamford Bridge and look to use Ollie Watkins on the break to catch us out.
This is not going to be easy.
