Pundit picks out one Chelsea player who was ‘so poor’ against Everton

Chelsea drew 2-2 with Everton on Saturday evening, ending a run of wins.

Graham Potter’s team have been really up and down since the former Brighton boss took charge, and things had started to look up again. There will always be bumps in the road of course, but Chelsea will be, ans should be, hugely frustrated that they twice threw away a lead in the game and ended up only taking one point at home to a relegation struggling team.

Questions will rightly be asked, and one of those questions will be asked about goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, who was poor in the game and gifted Everton their second equaliser.

Former Liverpool player turned pundit Jamie Redknapp singled Kepa out as being poor in the game, in words picked up by The Chelsea Chronicle.

He said: “The keeper is so poor [for the Simms goal]. He doesn’t make nearly enough saves… The keeper should do better.”

And unfortunately, he is not wrong at all here. Kepa has not been consistent enough at all for Chelsea.

  1. Kepa is a Goal keeper and not a magician. He is great at his job. If the 3 Chelsea players close to Simms were focused on their role Simms would have never been able to receive that pass beside them, blew past them, then so easily score that goal in the 89th minute to equalise. In addition when a team is ahead on goals with 10 minutes left and said team changes the defense players it is a strong message to the opposing team that said team is no longer willing to attack them. So it’s a given that the opposing losing team will intensify their attack. The core cause of the goal and loss of that gane is the substitution and the timing of it.

  2. Porter is a couche that can manage a big team like Chelsea so they will never develop until they sack him
    Bye bye Chelsea

    1. potter is not a coach that will take Chelsea to a promise land, before Chelsea can achieve anything they must sack potter first.

  3. Potter has a small team mentality. The changes he make after being only one goal up really piss me off. Don’t he knw small teams r desperate for points this time of the season? And Kepa was really poor today. Terrible showing

  4. Potter is not a coach for Big clubs,
He has no big team mentality , charisma,
    Middle table coach,
And Chelsea became an average team under his supervision.

  5. for me Chelsea will never do well with kepa in goal. He frustrated Lamps. Pick Mendy and you’re save

  6. Koulibally is poor in defending tricky and fast attackers. Kepa is an average goalkeeper for a team battling relegation. Potter is an average coach for a small team so he doesn’t understand that Chelsea is a big team who don’t defend against lower teams like Everton. Furthermore,he has shitty attackers like Kai so maybe that would affect his confidence to keep attacking while leading. We need lots of business to do. Too many poor and overrated players on high salaries

  7. potter is a failed project to much experiments and poor subs if this team was given to experienced. coach this team would have been the most feared

  8. Graham Potter has made Chelsea a mid table team, no manager in over 20 years has taken the team where it is right now, if you appointments a manager who has always been in midtable that the results you will get, we saw Moyes in Man U , there is no way he is getting Chelsea anywhere up than that, sorry

  9. Both Potter and Kepa. Potter is poor substitute decision making and kepa is not saving well

  10. Maybe he could have done better in the Ev3rton Game but he still has the best sabe percentage inbthe PL
