“No place” for Kai Havertz in current Bayern squad according to insider

Now that Thomas Tuchel is Bayern manager, we’re going to see all manner of transfer stories linking Chelsea players with a move to join up with their former boss.

It’s a good time to make up rumours like that, as Chelsea have so much deadwood on their books they need to shift.

One square beg who has still not found his place at Stamford Bridge is Kai Havertz, and given he’s German, there have been inevitable links with Munich in the last couple of days. It always seemed like the most likely destination for him, even before Tuchel’s arrival, as a German international, and his old boss’s arrival has only stoked the flames.

But for now, it looks like nothing doing. Christian Falk of Bild – usually the Bavarians’ media mouthpiece – has this morning assured his followers that Tuchel and Bayern bosses discussed Havertz and then decided that there is “no place” for him in the current squad.

That’s a blow for any Blues fans who were hoping to raise big money by selling the silky German on.
