Graham Potter urges caution over returning superstar

Graham Potter is delighted to have N’Golo Kante back – wouldn’t you be? The Chelsea coach has yet to be able to select one of the world’s best midfielder in one of his squads because of the injuries and long rehab that have troubled him this season, and this evening’s game against Everton marks a significant change in that regard.

Potter announced in his press conference last night that Kante would be in his squad today – but in his interview on the Chelsea website today he was careful to preach caution to all involved. It’s been a very deliberate policy to make sure Kante is given the maximum possible recovery period this time around, and the club aren’t going to throw that away now, as Potter explained:

“N’Golo is back for the weekend. He is in the squad, which is fantastic news for everybody. We have missed him a lot with his injury, it is great that he is back. We must be careful with him as he has been out for a while but nevertheless delighted he is back in the squad. We are looking forward to seeing him back on the pitch!”

So while everyone’s favourite Mini driver will be on the bench, don’t expect to see him get more than a second half sub appearance just to get him on the grass.
