Chelsea are being linked with a move for breakout Barcelona star Alejandro Bade.
The La Masia product has been a huge success story this season, repaying Xavi’s faith by establishing himself as first choice left back as the Blaugrana race to the title in Spain.
Catalan paper Sport, who are well connected at the club, report that the Blues are among the teams interested in the 19 year old.
It should be noted that Balde’s agent is Jorge Mendes, who is likely talking up all this interest to ensure his client’s next contract is a particularly generous one. His current deal expires at the end of next season, meaning this is a critical moment for Barca to tie him down to a long deal.
Given we already have Ben Chilwell and spent a lot on Marc Cucurella last summer, it seems most likely that we are just being used to ensure Balde gets a juicy deal this summer.
