Chelsea are being linked with a number of young talent as the new ownership looks to build up the academy’s strength, and today Fabrizio Romano has reported that Alex Matos is the next up.
The teenage talent plays for Norwich, where he’s been tearing it up in the under 21s. He’s on trial at Chelsea at the moment, and got two assists in a 3-0 win for the development squad in a friendly – playing alongside none other than N’Golo Kante.
#Chelsea are in advanced talks to sign U-18 talent Alex Matos (2004) from Norwich on a free transfer.

The 18 year old is still raw, and as Romano points out no contract has been offered yet – but he looks a real prospect. He has already signed a professional deal, so we will have to pay a decent fee for him but
Matos has been in demand for some time, but chose Norwich because of their strong youth academy and that has clearly paid off, as his development has been brilliant and now he’s in a strong position to get a great deal somewhere.
