Chelsea can still “jump up the table” claims midfielder as Blues prepare for final stretch

The international break is over, and now it’s time for Chelsea players to get back to club action for the final stretch of the season.

Most focus is on the Champions League, where there’s still the slim chance of some glory, and at least some important games to come.

It’s harder to get excited about the Premier League, where we’re slumped in mid table, a long way from the sharp end of the action. But Ruben Loftus-Cheek isn’t giving up hope of a late dash up the league, as he explained in quotes on Talksport:

“I wouldn’t say Champions League or bust, we’ve still got a bit more time in the Premier League to jump up the table. But for us… Champions League is where we need to knuckle down and focus and give ourselves the best chance of winning.”

A win on Saturday is an essential starting point, and if we can turn that into the start of a run of results, we might yet see an exciting end to the season in the Premier League – even getting into the Europa League rather than the Conference League would be more interesting.

But as RLC admits, the CL is where most of the juice is left in this horrible season.
