Bayern Munich have decided to jump the gun on this summer’s battle for top coaches by firing their manager Julian Nagelsmann and bringing in former Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel.

That leaves Real Madrid, who were also keen on Tuchel, totally outflanked as they look for a successor to Carlo Ancelotti, but also means Nagelsmann is back on the market.

Footy Insider – who have a strong line in dubious exclusives – say that Chelsea are keeping tabs on the impressive young coach, in case things change with their own setup.

We’ve got our doubts about how much attention Chelsea will really be paying.

The fact is, if we’ve seen Potter survive the run he’s survived so far, there’s no way he can get himself sacked before the summer. By then, Nagelsmann will likely already have a new job, with Tottenham very interested in appointing him as soon as possible, and likely many other top teams ready to swoop.
