Kepa was the player that Chelsea TV picked out for an interview after the game, and the goalkeeper was honest about the 0-0 draw against Fulham.
He made the same excuses that Graham Potter did, pointing to the new players and how hard it was for them to integrate into the team straight away. He tried to look at the positives of what they can do – “they showed what they can add,” the Basque stopper noted hopefully.
He picked out Benoit Badiashile for particular praise – we can imagine he likes playing behind him a lot.
But promise is one thing, and delivering on that promise is another. As Kepa says, we need to start winning – and soon.
