Nizaar Kinsella’s piece in the Evening Standard about the Enzo Fernandez move is a nice one, taking you through every detail of the saga that has dominated back pages through January.
One interesting part he notes is how Enzo was originally convinced by Chelsea that they were the right pick for a player who would likely have had his pick of a few top teams in the summer.
Kinsella mentions an “out of the box” presentation that was given to all 8 of the club’s January purchases in order to convince them that the Blues were the team to join. It must have been a spectacularly good one, as it seems to have a 100% success rate.
We’re sure the vast wages on offer had nothing to do with it…
In any case, given we’re heavy outsiders to be in the Champions League next season, it’s not an easy pitch, and we’re glad that the new recruitment team have been able to get in their groove so quickly.
I am very impressive about big spending and I real believe that it will lead us to a great in the future.
