“Impossible” – Insider speaks on Hakim Ziyech’s future after move breaks down

Hakim Ziyech was the subject of a crazy transfer deadline day drama as he pushed to get a move to PSG in the final hours of the window.

It looked like it was all done and agreed, but the paperwork was not filed in time and after an appeal yesterday, the deal broke down and was now allowed to be put through. Ziyech stays at Chelsea.

Was January Chelsea’s best ever transfer window?

There are of course other transfer windows still open around Europe, so there might still be a move for Ziyech. But that looks unlikely.

Will he wait for PSG for the summer? Will then even want to negotiate with Chelsea again?

Fabrizio Romano has written exclusively for CaughtOffside about it today, and he says that Chelsea blame a technical problem, but PSG are now furious with them.

“Chelsea sent the contracts for Hakim Ziyech signed, but not in time to be registered,” Romano explained.

“They say it’s because of technology problems; but PSG are literally furious. It was a loan deal. I have no idea if PSG will go again for Ziyech in the summer… it will depend on lot of factors, it’s impossible to know their summer strategy now.”

There’s always two sides to a story, but you have to feel for Ziyech here, who must be livid.

  1. I think Hakim is elated because he is a starter under GP and his future with the blues is more promising than before. His versatility is well rewarded by Potter’s decision to include him in the last few games since the restart of the EPL. Livid you say – watch Ziyech closely in the next few upcoming games.
