In a video on Rio Ferdinand’s Youtube channel, David Ornstein revealed that Todd Boehly said to his recruitment staff “get me that man” about Enzo Fernandez after witnessing his World Cup final performance.
Although Graham Potter is said to be on board with the transfer, this, if true, just goes to show how much influence some owners have on their clubs recruitment.
Enzo Fernandez flew into Farnborough airport earlier on this evening to complete media having already completing medicals in Portugal last night. Chelsea fans will be hoping to see him on Friday night against London rivals Fulham and one might suspect he could even start given the lack of options Chelsea have in midfield due to injuries and also the fact that most options to play the number six role, previously played by Jorginho, are unsuitable.
Graham Potter is set to hold a press conference tomorrow ahead of Friday’s game.
