Fabrizio Romano gives his verdict on manager spotted at Stamford Bridge this week

During the Chelsea vs Fulham game on Friday night, there was some speculation that started.

The game itself wasn’t overly entertaining, but tongues started wagging when Germany boss Hansi Flick was spotted sitting near some members of the Chelsea board.

This was always going to start speculation about him replacing Graham Potter, especially with the poor results and performances from Chelsea lately.

There’s many reasons why Flick was there, but to be honest, the most likely is that he was watching some of his international players. Kai Havertz for example, played 90 minutes in the game.

Writing in the Daily Briefing, his exclusive CaughtOffside column, Fabrizio Romano insists he’s not aware of any talks going on with other managers at the moment at Chelsea.

“Germany manager Hansi Flick was spotted at Stamford Bridge, so there’s inevitably been speculation about the Chelsea job,” Romano said.

“However, Flick has just committed to the Germany job until the Euros a few weeks ago and this is his full focus. I’m not aware of any conversation with Chelsea.”

We keep consistently hearing as well, that Potter is being fully backed by the new Chelsea board and his job doesn’t seem to be under any threat, as of now at least.
