Ex Chelsea man reportedly caught up in horrific earthquake mess

Christian Atsu, a former Chelsea player, is reportedly caught up in the rubble of a huge 7.8 magnitude earthquake which struck Turkey, reports Turkish outlet Star as cited by The Daily Mail.

A huge search and rescue operation is underway, so far over 1,700 people have been killed and thousands more are feared injured in the blast which has shocked the nation.

Atsu, who was signed by Chelsea in 2013, never appeared in a professional game for the club, failing to live up to the hype, but did appear plenty of times for Newcastle from 2017-2020 making 50+ appearances, scoring 3 goals.

The winger, now 31 years old, plays his trade in Turkey for Hatayspor and this horrific ordeal can only be described as a nightmare.

In times of natural disaster, we must feel thankful for life and cherish every single day. Hopefully Christian and everyone else still stuck in the rubble can be found safe and well.
