Chelsea’s hideous February detailed with shocking stat

Chelsea’s form over the last two months has been nothing short of abysmal and this shocking new stat really put’s things into perspective.

Romelu Lukaku, who has suffered from injuries and is not even fully firing, has scored more goals in the month of February (2) than Chelsea as a team have (1).

Shocking, isn’t it? In fact, in the last 10 games stretching back to 27th December, Chelsea have managed to score just 6 goals.

Despite the new arrivals of Joao Felix, Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke in attack, the Blues are struggling to consistently create and finish chances.

On the other side of things, Chelsea have managed to keep the second highest amount of clean sheets in the Premier League this season with 8, Chelsea are relying on Thiago Silva, Benoit Badiashile and Kepa Arrizabalaga to bail them out of trouble more often than not.

Chelsea are going to have to score a minimum of 2 goals should they want to progress against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League in two weeks time, something they have done just twice in four month’s worth of fixtures.

  1. I’ve posted this comment before, but…

Why didn’t we recall Lukaku in Jan when (despite the fact that LFC nabbed Gakpo) there apparently were no highly quality #9s available? Doesn’t really matter whether he doesn’t want to be with us—he’s under contract and we’ll likely look to sell him in summer anyway. But the manager has changed since his miserable showing last season and it’s hard to imagine we’d look worse with him leading the line (indeed, I’d love to see Felix at the 10 paired with someone like Big Rom who can hold up and lay off the ball with back to goal).
