Chelsea representatives eye up highly rated goalkeeper

According to 90 min Chelsea representatives have been in Porto’s stands over the last few weeks to watch their Goalkeeper Diogo Costa.

Chelsea are thought to be planning a move for a new long term number one despite the impressive performances from Kepa Arrizabalaga between the sticks this season. Edouard Mendy, who is currently sidelined with a finger injury, is expected to leave the club in the summer.

The winner of the 2021 men’s best goalkeeper award fell down the ranks after a string of poor performances and errors with his passing, which is a big contributor as to why Kepa plays over him.

Mendy also didn’t do much to redeem himself during the World Cup, with mistakes against Netherlands and a lacklustre performance against England being moments to forget. Costa, who is 23 years old, has been very impressive for Porto, keeping ten clean sheets so far this season whilst recording fifteen the season before this.
