Report: Three Chelsea players could still depart this month

Chelsea are spending all this money on new players this month as well as in the summer just past, but they need to now be also looking to balance some books.

They need to sell players, and ideally they need to move one or two out this month.

Insider Ben Jacobs has penned his latest exclusive column for Si & Dan Talk Chelsea today, and one of the many subjects he goes through is potential outgoings this month.

Jacobs believes there could be three players who have chances of leaving still in this late stage of the window – Hakim Ziyech, Conor Gallagher, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. The latter two as well, especially if Chelsea sign a new midfielder this window themselves.

Ziyech is attracting some strong interest in this late part of the window, and it’s not impossible that Chelsea listen to offers for the other two, says Jacobs.

“A Hakim Ziyech exit is still very possible even though he’s had some game time since the World Cup,” Jacobs wrote.

“Ziyech’s preference is actually to return to Ajax, but manager Alfred Schreuder has ruled that out. Milan were relatively keen over the summer, but their interest has cooled. Keep an eye on both Newcastle and Roma, although the challenge for both is Ziyech’s wages are quite high.

“It’s also not impossible Chelsea listen to offers for Connor Gallagher. Newcastle and Crystal Palace have him on their radar. Chelsea would want £35-40m. And Ruben Loftus-Cheek is drawing interest from both the Premier League and abroad. Newcastle, Milan, PSV and Leverkusen, to name but four, have all discussed a move internally.”
