Lyon emerge as late contenders for Tiemoue Bakayoko

Tiemoue Bakayoko’s window looked in danger of petering out once again, but at the 11th hour more interest in him has bubbled up.

The midfielder is 18 months in to a 2 year loan at AC Milan where he’s not playing at all, and all parties are keen to shift him somewhere else. So far we’ve seen interest from lower down the Italian league and from Turkey, but nothing has stuck and as it stands Bakayoko is set for another 6 months of misery on the bench in Milan.

But Fabrizio Romano is now reporting on interest from Lyon, a major step up from Cremonese, the last team to be linked with a move for the Chelsea flop.

Whether he goes on loan to Lyon or on a permanent transfer, it’s going to involve cancelling his deal with Milan, so it could all get messy. But if everyone wants it to happen, there’s still time.
