Jose Mourinho’s representatives tell Chelsea owners he’s ready to come back for third spell

Chelsea are without a game this week, which can only mean it’s time for some silly speculation in the press.

The Daily Mail have a story today that Jose Mourinho is “desperate” to come back to the Premier League and has made his intentions clear to Chelsea, with hopes that the new owners could mean a new lease of life for the coach, who had two spells at Stamford Bridge under Roman Abramovich.

Inevitably, the claims are that Mourinho is tired of a lack of financial backing at Roma. His representatives – Jorge Mendes, that is, have “made it clear” to Chelsea he’s keen to come in if they ever get rid of Graham Potter.

That doesn’t look likely anytime soon, and while the new ownership don’t have first hand experience of Jose, they will surely be aware of the risks of toxicity that come with his appointment anywhere.

To us, this just seems like some idle off-week chatter.

  1. Why would Chelsea ever want him back, with so many young managers with modern ideas of playing the beautiful game. All he would bring is the is disruption

    1. Wholeheartedly agree! Jose is good at two things: parking the bus and throwing his players under it! Stay away, Jose! Stay away.
