Chelsea trying to source work permit so they can have midfielder playing this season

Not only are Chelsea still in intensive talks to sign Benfica midfielder Enzo Fernandez this afternoon, they are also trying to source a work permit for one current midfielder to stay in the first team squad for the rest of this season.

Brazilian youngster Andrey Santos was one of the first signings Chelsea made in the January transfer window, and he has just been enjoying a very good South American U20s tournament. This has led Chelsea to want to take the midfielder back into their first team for the rest of this season, rather than loaning him out.

Sources: Chelsea defender feeling unsettled in London!

This is according to UOL, as cited by Sport witness today. They say that Chelsea are working on the work permit process for Andrey Santos as they’d like to have him playing in this final stretch of the season. In case that isn’t possible, then it’s likely he’d have to be loaned somewhere else.
