Sky Sports are reporting that Chelsea have flown members of their medical staff to Lisbon in order to conduct Enzo Fernandez’s medical when the time is right.
The ferocious negotiations over the transfer fee are still ongoing, but clearly Chelsea feel there’s a way through still to be found, as they’re making all these preparations for an exceptionally late conclusion.
All the paperwork can be done digitally – the medical is the only part where the Blues will want their own people in place, and now they’re out in Portugal it’s just a matter of getting the finances sorted.

Things have swung back and forth today, with a deal looking pretty unlikely just a few hours ago.
This development certainly give us hope, and we can now expect at the very least a thrilling evening that comes right down to the wire. Let’s hope these guys haven’t made the trip for nothing…
