The rumours tonight around Anthony Gordon are that Newcastle have beaten Chelsea to the winger’s signing.
Matt Law says that a move to St James’ Park could be “done very soon.” The young attacker had been linked with Chelsea at the start of the season, and again in recent days following the sacking of Frank Lampard at Goodison Park.
This isn’t one that most Chelsea fans will be too upset about. Most people were puzzled by our links to Gordon in the summer, let alone hearing them again now we’ve signed THREE further attacking players.

So if he does go to Newcastle – and it looks like we will – not many tears will be shed.
We’ve got more important things to worry about – namely a back up right back and a central midfielder. Gordon is a talent, but Newcastle need him more than we do, and they have even more money to spend.
