Chelsea could miss out on previous transfer target

Matt Law, a reliable football correspondent who covers Chelsea regularly, released an exclusive article yesterday to explain that Chelsea had once again shown interest in Everton winger Anthony Gordon, having been in talks for the player last summer under the guidance of then head coach Thomas Tuchel.

However this time round if Chelsea are going to complete a deal for Gordon, they are going to need to be fast as Craig Hope from The Daily Mail  reports this afternoon that Newcastle, who sit several places above Chelsea in the premier league, have opened talks for Gordon’s signature.

Chelsea are willing to loan the player back to Everton until the end of the season as a potential sweetener in the deal, however Everton will ask for close to 60 Million Pounds to consider selling. Despite this price tag, it is said that Newcastle would be willing to offer a 25 million plus 15 million add on package which sources claim could see an agreement reached.
