Chelsea and Manchester United consider cheap bids for Bayern midfielder

Chelsea’s chances of signing Enzo Fernandez seem to be fading, and so with just hours left in the transfer window that means action stations.

Jorginho is about to move to Arsenal, leaving us even more short handed in midfield than we were before, so it’s not a surprise to see a lot of new short term targets being suggested.

Sky Sports in Germany say both we and Manchester United have asked about the availability of Marcel Sabizter of Bayern Munich. It seems like United are closer, and we would have to overhaul their lead, but given Sabizter is a solid, available midfielder, Chelsea will certainly be thinking about him.

It hasn’t really worked out for the Austrian international in Munich, where he arrived on a free transfer 18 months ago. He’s fallen out of favour, and will certainly see the temptations of a move to the Premier League, even if just on loan.
