ESPN had an interesting debate last night following Belgium’s elimination.
They argued that anyone who took pleasure in Romelu Lukaku’s horror misses which led to his country’s exit had no heart. Plenty of Chelsea fans were in that camp, after a year of having the striker back at Chelsea.
We are by no means fans of Lukaku, and he would probably admit himself that his conduct on and off the pitch has not done anything to endear himself to Blues fans – but we take no special pleasure in watching him suffer at all.
That would indeed be heartless and cruel/
