Mason Mount being a divisive player is about as much proof as you need that modern football fans spend more time on social media than they do actually watching the game.

As Chelsea fans who watch every single game, we don’t need to be told what Mount does. Even if you can’t see it on the pitch, you can certainly see it in the stats, which show him as our most productive player in terms of goals and assists, as well as having exceptional defensive numbers too.

I’m giggling just reading this headline. It’s downright cute how quickly you guys are to (over-) react to any criticism of your “precious.” You mount (pun intended) a counter-argument to any perceived slight against your golden boy with the zealotry of an over-protective parent. I think Mount is a strong player, but the constant defensiveness (as if he can do no wrong) is annoying—especially when you exhibit so little objectivity toward his American foil (Pulisic). It’s almost enough to make a lesser man a Mason hater just out of spite, lol!
My advice: Take it easy, guys. Mason is obviously nowhere near as bad as the haters thinks, but he’s also not as good as you seem to think.
