(Video): MOTM Kai Havertz’s two goals for Germany and individual highlights

Kai Havertz was named man of the match for Germany yesterday as he helped them beat Costa Rica 4-2 in the final group match of the World Cup.

Amazingly, Havertz got man of the match after only being introduced as a second half sub. But he came on and made an instant difference and an instant impact for his country, scoring two goals along the way.

The irony is though, his two goals only sent Spain through, and didn’t help Germany’s cause in the end, as they failed to qualify from the group!

We feel for Havertz, but from a Chelsea perspective, it was great to see him playing well and scoring!

  1. Yes, great to see Kai playing well. Congrats to him for giving Germany a lifeline even if they were ultimately doomed by their loss to Japan.

Again, I have to ask, where was Chelsea News’ coverage when it was Pulisic saving his nation’s WC hopes? Don’t get me wrong, it’s lovely that you’re giving the likes of Ziyech and Havertz well-deserved attention, but it makes the absence of similar accolades for that Blue from “across the pond” that much more glaringly obvious. It’s a disgraceful and petty double standard, but, hey, at least you’re consistent! Thank goodness I can visit rival sites like “We Ain’t Got No History” and get something approaching a balanced conversation.
