Hakim Ziyech has well and truly fallen out of favour at Chelsea in the last 12 months, going from a player who was always trying to break into the first XI to one who is often the last option left on the bench.
As his chances has waned so has his enthusiasm, and the relationship between him and the club feels like it’s on its last legs.
We all hoped he would thrive at the World Cup, in a different environment with a different team, and the Morocco star looks super motivated. His team have made their way to the quarter finals, where they face Portugal.
Louis van Gaal: “Ziyech was of course trained in the Netherlands and he is a wonderful player. He makes an enormous contribution to the Moroccan squad and before this new head coach came in he wasn’t being played, so that says something about the head coach.” #MAR #CFC

One man asked about Ziyech’s impact was Netherlands coach Louis Van Gaal, who knows Ziyech well from his time at Ajax. Van Gaal pointed to his impact in Qatar, and threw some shade on Thomas Tuchel, who was the Chelsea manager who really cast Ziyech into exile.
You can see his quotes above – we reckon if Van Gaal had seen some of Ziyech’s efforts in a Blue shirt, he might have a different opinion.
Hakim ziyechi remains the world best at this moment
You know he was talking about the last coach of Morocco and not Tuchel, right??? Weird, wrong clickbait article…
