‘Integrating’ – Graham Potter gives ‘hopeful’ Chelsea update ahead of PL return

Premier League football is now right around the corner again as we reach the latter stages of the World Cup in Qatar.

Whether you have been enjoying the break in domestic football or not, it will soon be back again now at the end of this month and Chelsea will be back in action before you know it.

Chelsea moving to try and sign Ghana’s World Cup star!

Graham Potter currently has his squad out in Abu Dhabi partaking in some warm weather training as well as a friendly match against Aston Villa on Sunday. It’s very much like a mini-preseason with the break in football, even though some players have still been playing at the World Cup.

Potter has given some positive injury updates on the Chelsea website today, and it looks like we will finally seeing one or two of our injured players back in Chelsea blue once again!

Reece James will be the one most Blues fans are eager to see back again, but there are others to report as well.

Graham Potter: “Reece [James] is not quite fully training but he’s integrating into training along with Wesley [Fofana]. Wesley is a little bit further behind but not too far.

“Ben [Chilwell] has come back from his individual work in Dubai and he’s now working closer with the guys but still not team training,’ updated Potter on our number 21, who was in the gym with his team-mates earlier in the week.

“N’Golo [Kante] is a little bit further away but again he’s progressing well.

“Kepa [Arrizabalaga] is not quite with the team yet but has stepped up his rehab.

“Ruben [Loftus-Cheek] is doing some work in the gym so we’re hopeful that he can be involved next week but we’ll see how he goes.

“There are lots of players at different levels and that’s the challenge but we’re making progress so that’s the positive.”
