Chelsea’s current non-World Cup players have this morning landed in Abu Dhabi ahead of a couple of weeks of warm weather training.
As well as this, on Sunday, Chelsea play against Aston Villa in a friendly in Abu Dhabi, as part of a mini pre-season as such before Premier League matches return.

With the World Cup being bang in the middle of the season, it’s been a refreshing chance for Grahan Potter and his remaining players to take a break, just as they do in summer, and then have a ‘pre-season’ like they also do in summer.
Potter has selected a 25-man squad to go with him, and it is heavily made up with academy stars to make up the numbers. But judging from the list of players below, many of these lads will not just be making up the numbers, and some of them will be staking claims for the first team on a regular basis!
