The club are sounding out a number of potential targets to come in for the big squad rebuild that they are looking to do over the next couple of transfer windows, and the midfield remains the real priority.

This report has been backed up today by Italian reporter Alfredo Pedulla, as cited and translated by Chelsea news account, Chelstransfer, below.
Pedulla says that Bennacer is ‘greatly appreciated’ as Chelsea, who would be willing to spend 40m euros to sign him in January.

Bennacer’s contract runs out in 2024, and although there have been talks, it doesn’t look highly likely that he will be penning a new extension there as of now.
