The World Cup is only just getting to the sharp end, but with January just around the corner, the world of club transfers is getting lively too.
Chelsea’s need to strengthen should make this a fun window all round for Blues fans, and we’re being linked with some really interesting names.
Today, Le10Sport in France say that we’ve already secured the £15m signing of Andrey Santos, a wondrkid playing for Vasco De Gama.
They report that PSG had been close, but have now given up because we were “quicker” to get a deal done.
Vasco have just been promoted back to the Brazilian top flight, thanks in part of the efforts of their brilliant young attacker. Other interested teams – including Newcastle and Barcelona – will have to look elsewhere.
Whether this comes from the new faces in the scouting department or is something we’ve been working on for a while, we’re not yet sure. But we will follow with interest.
