Transfer insiders are always jumping the gun on deals to try and have the future credit of having been the first to announce it. That means that moves that take a long time can end up dragging on can feel like they’ve been “confirmed” ten times.
The Christopher Nkunku move to Chelsea is definitely one of those at this stage, and tonight we’ve seen the latest assurances that the transfer is happening from Nicolo Schira, one of the mid grade gurus.
He said that a €70m move was “confirmed” and that the France international, currently missing the World Cup because of an injury, “will be a Chelsea player from July.”

We’ve heard versions of that a few times now, and each time we do it feels like that impetus gets a little stronger. There is no new evidence here, but the weight of repetition really is starting to convince us that Todd Boehley has made an offer that RB Leipzig have agreed to.
