Why there’s still a small chance that Armando Broja starts against Arsenal

It was a real surprise to see Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang start against Dinamo Zagreb in midweek.

He’s the senior striker in the squad and the most likely to play against his old club Arsenal tomorrow, so why was he tired out in a dead rubber in the Champions League?

The most probably answer is that Graham Potter wants to build chemistry in his attack by giving them all minutes together. But there’s also a chance that he’s got something else in mind.

Not only did we want to see Aubameyang rested on Wednesday, we wanted to see Armando Broja get another start.

Is it possible that Potter is planning to flip his first choice and use Broja tomorrow? Sadly it feels like wishful thinking, but you never know. With the way that the Brighton coach has been switching his team around, anything is possible. He’s certainly not found his perfect formula yet, and until he does, we can expect further experiments.

Don’t hold your breath, however.
